Overlay-effect


Take a picture you like,I chose this one:

Paste it as a new image and make a new raster layer.

Click on Layer > Layer Properties and then choose the option Overlay.
Then choose a nice patter/color/gradient that you like and a nice texture to give it something extra.

You can change the Layer Opacity if you want to also.
Add some more effects like some brushes if you want to.
Here is my result.
